Entries

​​Entry dates: Entries will open on Monday 3rd August and officially close Friday 28th August at noon. We have been fully subscribed in recent years and expect to fill up quickly. If this happens, we will suspend entries early - this has happened at every Lea Regatta since 2021. Don’t miss out!​​

How to enter: Please enter and pay via British Rowing’s Online Entry system.

​

Fees: £14 per seat, excluding coxswains, to be paid at the time of entry.

​

British Rowing membership: All entrants will need British Rowing membership valid on the day of racing ("RACE" for fine boat events, "ROW" or "RACE" for the stable boat events). Day Tickets are also accepted.

Doubling up: Entering a competitor or boat in two different events is encouraged - but please note it clearly on your entry to help our timetabling team avoid clashes. Note that our programme is too tight to accommodate entering competitors or boats in more than two events.​

​

Combined / banded events: We may combine or band events to give everyone good racing. Masters races will be organised using the handicap system, and we sometimes combine adjacent Junior age groups.

​

Accepting crews: We do everything we can to get everyone racing, but we reserve the right to refuse any entry if we cannot accommodate you. In this case you will receive a full refund.​

​

Substitutions: Can be made on the entry system (up to 100% before entries close, 50% after).​

​

Scratching: Crews that withdraw after the close of entries are still liable for payment of their entry fees.

Notes on the stable boat event

​

​All crews will race in mixed Explore​​r coxed quads. Boats and blades will be provided by Lea Rowing Club. We will run a "plate" event for losers of the first round - so every crew will get at least two races.

Entries permitting, we will split the event into two categories:

• The Beginner/Primary category is intended for competitors who started rowing recently and have little to no racing experience.We will rely on clubs’ honesty to ensure that crews are genuine beginners. As a guide, we would consider 18 months of rowing (March 2025) as the upper limit. If you're in any doubt as to whether your crew fits in the event, please contact us and we'll be happy to advise.  

• The Experienced/Stable category is for recreational rowers who have been rowing for some years and/or have some racing experience. We reserve the right to band the event if entries dictate.

Please note that:

• Each crew must include a minimum two female rowers (not including the cox).

• Cox can be any gender, but must be experienced and 12 years or older.

• All participants must have British Rowing "ROW" or "RACE" membership, or purchase a Day Ticket.

• We accept entries from all British Rowing clubs (whether or not you are affiliated to the Thames Valley Explore League).
